Authentic Culture
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa shares a truly authentic culture with its guests. The Yasawa Island Resort is the only commercial development on an island that is 22 kilometres long; and its only neighbours are the beautiful inhabitants of the six villages of Yasawa Island. What makes a visit to the Yasawa Island Resort so special and unique is the opportunity to get to know the Yasawa Family; visit the local village; share some kava with the village elders; listen to the school children as they burst into song to welcome you; experience a traditional meke (Fijian singing and dancing); or enjoy the choir’s incredible voices on a Sunday, as you sit with your feet in the sand watching the sun sink into the Pacific. It is these moments that will stay with you long after you leave Yasawa’s sandy shores.
Dining
Your dining experiences at Yasawa will be extraordinary. Enjoy your meals in our al fresco restaurant with incredible views overlooking the pool, beach and ocean. For additional time alone with the one you love, the possibilities are numerous… private dinners on the beach, room service, secluded beach picnics, or dinners poolside. Yasawa’s nightly tariff includes all gourmet meals and non-alcoholic beverages.
The executive chef creates delicious menus daily featuring the freshest of local and regional ingredients. The village fisherman regularly deliver fresh fish, lobster and crab to the resort, which features prominently in the Yasawa Island Resort menus, but each menu has a variety of options to satisfy all palettes.
Activities
Yasawa’s ocean-based activities are the most popular, from a gentle dip in the clear blue waters to something more adventurous like scuba diving. No matter how you choose to spend your days, Yasawa Island Resort will make them as relaxing as possible.
Blue Lagoon Caves
One of Yasawa’s unique water-based activities is an excursion to the Blue Lagoon Caves.
Visit this spectacular lagoon and swim within its hidden chambers, linked to the sea by underwater passages.
Private Picnics
Whether it’s an afternoon relaxing on the beach or a romantic getaway, our friendly staff will pack a delightful picnic for you.
Yasawa Island Resort is surrounded by deserted beaches, ready for you to enjoy a specially prepared private beach picnic. Like all meals at Yasawa Island Resort, the private beach picnic is included in the all-inclusive tariff.
Scuba Diving
The Yasawa island’s western side (where the resort is located) is surrounded by magnificent, unspoiled coral reefs. It offers a broad cross-section of dive possibilities for all levels of divers.
Yasawa Island is made up of rugged volcanic rock whose sheer cliffs fall into the sea creating the most amazing limestone coral formations and drops offs. The island is surrounded by uncharted reefs, submerged in turquoise and jade green seas. Yasawa’s remote location will give you the enviable situation of having all of Yasawa’s incredible dive sites! ( Additional charge may apply )
Cultural Activities
With the permission of the chief, guests can visit the nearby village of Bukama where school children offer a welcome in song. Or at the resort, guests might take part in a lovo (Fijian feast), witness an evening Meke (dance ceremony), or sense the full resonance of Fijian voices when the village choir pays a visit on Sunday evenings.
Cooking Demonstrations
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa takes great care to ensure all guests enjoy their dining experience in Fiji.
Freshly caught seafood and local produce will be available when you experience Yasawa’s local cooking demonstrations. The cooking style is Fijian, featuring traditional South Pacific recipes using all local ingredients, herbs and spices and you’ll be able to return home and recreate your Fijian experience for your friends and family.
Kava Ceremony
Fiji is famous for its kava, and at the Yasawa Island Resort & Spa you’ll be able to partake in a traditional Fijian kava ceremony.
